Singer Vijay Prakash attributes his success to the guidance of his teachers. Coming from a family of Carnatic musicians, music has been a part of his life from a young age. He acknowledges his grandfather, Shri Lakshmipathy Bhagavathar, as his first teacher, followed by his parents, the late Shri K Ramashesha and Smt Lopa Mudra, who were also Carnatic musicians and shared their knowledge with him. On Teacher's Day, the Jai Ho singer emphasizes the significance of having mentors and highlights the continuous learning process in music. He believes that despite music consisting of just seven notes, the combinations are endless, and mastering even a small percentage makes one a genius. Vijay Prakash expresses his belief that there will always be more to learn about music, as each country and region offers unique musical styles. He views music as a source of life lessons and a means to connect with others. Reflecting on his own journey, he now recognizes the pivotal role teachers have played in shaping his life and career. Vijay Prakash values providing constructive feedback, especially in his role as a judge on various shows, emphasizing the importance of appreciating heartfelt performances while also offering guidance on the technical aspects of music.I have observed that today's younger generation does not approach their teachers with fear, as was the custom in my own upbringing. In the past, fear was equated with respect, but attitudes have shifted. It is possible to show respect without instilling fear in one's mentor. I am finding inspiration in the new generation as I strive to evolve from my previous ways.

Our current selves are a product not of our conscious learning, but of our educators' conscious teaching. While some individuals may be fully engaged in their lessons, I could only maintain focus around 20 percent of the time. Therefore, any accomplishments I have achieved can be credited to the unwavering dedication of my teachers, who were always fully devoted to their task even when I was not fully attentive. This has played a crucial role in shaping who I have become today.
